Chose the wrong day..filthy weather..flying display cancelled. Caught a glimpse of the 8-Ship yesterday as I was driving my daughter to see "Shrek the Third"

Shame that the flying was cancelled.

Some very nice pictures though.

Really a shame about the weather - and is it me, or are Tigers shrinking in their old age?? The always seemed to tower over me when I was younger

The weather here is bloomin' rotten at the moment. What a shame it spoiled such a promising day. :sad:

Great photos though, I have not seen the place (my old 'Alma Mata' ) since 1981 when we flew the 38 group rugby team into Halton for a game (bet the bean counters would object to that today), are the old hangars still full of JPs?

No the JPs (and Jags) movedwhen No1 School of Technical Training relocated to Cosford in '92. Not sure what happened to the Gnats?? The hangars are full of Grob 109e (613VGS), assorted gliders - Joint Adventurous Training School and Chiltern GSA, plus numerous light aircraft operated by Halton Aeroplane Club.

Speaking of Moths, did anybody catch "Coast" on the BBC last week? A nice piece on flying the Fox Moth from the beaches at Southport, and Neil thingy got to be the passenger in one flight from the beaches - constant moaning on his part about flying on a 'plane made from old tights and balsa wood, I'd have swapped places with him in a heartbeat!!
