Funny what you find parked at McCarran

So...Im running my father in law down Strip to drop his rental car off at
the new super facililty at McCarran (KLAS) and the Signature Flight Support
apron is right next to the "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign - there parked
in amongst the G4s and 5s , Global Express's etc etc sat this ------

For those who dont know 162W belongs to Grumman/Northrop who use it as
an electronics test bed - I was surprised to see it at McCarran - I would have been less so to see it over at Nellis AFB - Anyway _ I couldnt get any photos of it last night - Ill slip by tomorrow and see if I can snap at few - she still looks pretty good for her age - except for the odd nose and the droopy mufflers

I believe she is operating in conjunction with the Raptor program that is on going at Nellis Jonesy


And the old girl needs a wash badly

As I said Ill try and swing by the Signature ramp and get some piccies of her

I think 162W is now the only currently flying BAC 1-11 in the US as well too. 111JY was grounded about 6 months ago due to cost of flying and I haven't seen any activity from the CU Buffalo's bird in over a year. That is a good find.
