Duxford - Flying Legends

Post by migeater0 »

Is anyone attending this year?

I'm working with Classic Wings this year, flying up in the Pembroke. Come over and say hi if you're around. I'm the younger of the two Nick's!

Come on over and make yourself known, but it will be busy! We'll be based down opposite the American hanger (flight line).

I'll be there, weather permitting. Not sure which day yet though.

No.. that's true. You DO however, park 2 lovely Rapides out in full view with an invitation to go for a flight!! The weak among us (meaning me!) always finds it a temptation too far

That said.. I've been promising myself a run in one of the Tiggies when I reached the tender age of 50 and that happened a few months ago. Not sure yet if I can stretch to the fare this time round (or any other time for that matter). Being poverty stricken with ideas above ones station is never a good mix

We had a gentleman with MS fly the last weekend, so you've got no excuse.

That's right Nick.. I have no excuses and don't intend trying to fabricate any. Last year is the first year in the last 6.. maybe 7 that I didn't go up in one of the Rapides so if I continue to think along those lines.. I saved £40 last year to put towards a Tiggie flight this year  Unfortunately, whichever way you say it, £110 isn't cheap mate.. albeit for 15mins. Looking at the CW site.. it lists Rapide flights as being from £79. I hope that's not what's being charged for the few mins you get on airshow days  The Tiggie has gone up over a tenner too :crying:

Ah well.. I missed Concorde and will never have the opportunity again so I might as well aim for the Tiggie

I'll be there, both days probably.

Watch out for the RAF Transport Command Dak arriving!
