Classic British Flight Sim

These were taken today by me of Ben (XR219) on a low level sortie in the beta varsion of Rick's Blenhiem Mk1. Its me flying the NF1 and Ben in the Mk1 Bomber.

FSX is a great improvement in MP flying and despite not turning down my scenery settings (with all this autogen I was down to 15 FPS), this type of flying was easily possible ......despite the (accurate) cockpit glazing and the fact that the engines mask most of the side views!

BTW Trev (he says, putting his pedantic hat on) strictly speaking it was not the Blenheim NF1, the correct designation would have been the Mk 1F.

Yep, you are right Andy, I wrote without thinking too much Also a big 'THANK YOU' to Mr Piper for the loan of the fabulous airframes. I do not think we bent them too much :redface:

BTW Ben, that 'hairy' landing you did at Bembridge....I assumed that it was caused by MS putting an autogen house right on the glidepath, before the threshold. As you were using VRF, you would not have seen it

You are not wrong!! 5 hours at the beach yesterday, followed by a MP session in FSX until 01.30 AM. The weather today is unbroken blue sky and 33C.....now I know why I came

My grandmother's first husband used to fly Blenheims. He was last seen being chased out over the med by 2 109's, His body was never found.
I have his log books, the message that was sent to control (where my grandmother was working, unfortunately.) and have letters from the co-pilot's (gunner?) mother and father say that they are sorry for my grandmothers loss and were happy in knowing that their son was with an experienced pilot at the time.

This really is a piece of History.

My Grandfathers Brother (Grand uncle?) wask killed in North Africa on Blenheims.
was hit on the ground by 3 Bf109's when refuelling & rearming :sad:

they got the other my Grandfather at Tobruk with a Panzerfaust in the back of his churchill tank
