Classic British Flight Sim

Hi all,

Basically I've decided to venture into the world of FS aircraft modeling.

I though a good start for a "serious" project, (I've already built a few decidedly dodgy looking first planes!) would be a grob vigilant motor glider,

the problem I've got is finding a three way technical diagram to work from.

If anyone could help I'd really appreciate it

P.S to all of you out there who produce such wonderful models, e.g trident, chippie, herald, hunter, dove, shackleton and so one, I appreciated them beforehand, and now I appreciate them even further as I've found out just how hard it is to make something look half as good as your efforts!

It would be easier if we had a idea exactly what you were looking for.

This is going to be of no use to you whatsoever...

I know nothing about the subject you want to model but one thing to bear in mind..3-view drawings are notoriously inaccurate :roll:....

..do a Google, find as many images and technical information as you can of the subject: it's surprising what's out there... ..often a good side-on photo is better than a drawing.

You didn't mention whether you're going to be using FSDS, GMax, 3DS Max...whatever..you'll find plenty of help and advice here...

Sorry forgot to mention, using FSDS as I tried Gmax but it was far too difficult to get my head around.


Garry, I was looking for a side drawing of the aircraft, top drawing and so on to get a idea of the shape and scale, but Dereks Idea of using side view photographs may work just as well.

Thanks for all the advice so far, and I hope no-one minds but I might op up in here occasionally for advice.
