Somewhere in my past is a cream coloured bakelite cased "Ekco" radio
that was my constant companion from about age 6 - My brothers passed
it on when they got a new fangled transistor radio - You had to wait for about 3 minutes while the tubes warmed up - but listening to the shows mentioned at Whirlygigs companion site and then after that to Radio Luxembourg until the wee hours of the morning -- Anyone remember

I found a DVD package of kids programmes from the late 50's, early 60's..all of the above, Fireball XL5, etc..but it cost £100 :shock:

I thought I'd get it for my 5 year old Sam..but he's so wrapped up with the current Dr Who that I doubt he'd be impressed

I also remember Terry Hall with his arm stuffed up Lenny the Lions 'bum' on TV in the mid '60, along with Ray Allan & Lord Charles, Crossroads, Thunderbirds-on their first outing, Andy Pandy...too many memories

As it happens.. I have the complete Fireball XL5 and Stingray sets on DVD! I also know of a certain Mr Piper (oops) who owns the complete Thunderbirds

Funny you know.. I was sitting watching some pony on the box the other night (one of those prolific game shows) and thought I'd have a look at their website. After falling bored within a second or two, I found another link on the same site (it's ITV btw) where they have the complete (with the exception of episode 1) Joe90 available for you to watch in realtime!! Goes without saying I had a slightly later night than I intended
