Hi Kevin...

I'll have a wee look around the phpBB forum and see if there are similar problems. give me a few days and i'll report back.

Steve,

i know what you mean. Sometimes it seems fine, then other times when I go to post it seems to take forever. You shouldn't get booted outh though, I guess that might be something else.

Re the performance, the new Virtual sver doesn't run fredora anymore, but ubuntu. I'm also having another few problems with some of the back end stuff.

Basically its continually going in and out of the red on kernal memory useage for no apparent reason. rest asured I'm looking into it. Just out of curiosity, are both of you chaps on Broadband, and if so could you tell me who your ISP is?

cheers

Cheers

Kevin

PS, thanks for all of your hard work in setting up the new site. My comments are only to assist in its smooth running, and in no way a criticism of your efforts.

I know that Kevin, I'd like to get to the bottom of it as much as you. ;-) Also on Viginmedia here too. Just wanted to check that you guys weren't on dial up as the performance problems would appear much worse over a modem. ;-)

I'm on AOL broadband.
I have a feeling the kickouts will probably be something on my machine but not a clue what.

Thanks for reply

Steve

Hi Ben

I'm getting the page expired but only if I click back after making a post.

Interesting...

I don't get page expired but it takes a while to update...refresh, preview post, etc...I'm with Orange.

If I go away and leave it, when I come back and refresh I get a 'page not found'..for Orange as well..a re-boot sorts it and I suspect an XP update is the problem...
