Hi everybody,
BOAC flight 712 was a Heathrow to Sidney service with the first intermediate stop at Zurich. As it was served with B707-420 there should have been some more stops. Does anybody know where they were?
Thanks and regards
Jakov

Two answers for you
In 1961 BA712 went from London, Dusseldorf, Beirut, Bahrain, Bombay, Columbo, Singapore, Jakarta, Darwin, Sydney.
In 1969 BA712 went from London, Zurich, Rome, Karachi, Calcutta, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Darwin, Sydney.

That was the flight operated by G-ARWE when the number two engine caught fire and then fell off as he turned to make an emergency landing on the crosswind runway at LHR.

Somehow I doubted it was a co incidence.
On that occasion it was LHR-LHR in three and a half minuets........so much happened in that time.
BTW sorry........forgetting my manners
Welcome to the forum

I flew as a pax on that route during 1966-67 as far as Singapore and it followed the route shown as 1969.

Doing some checking on British airways current timetable , today there is a flight BA 712 from LHR to Zurich, but unfortunately, it does not continue to points east.

Jeepers, I just looked up the piccies of the a/c on airliners.net.
The entire tail of the a/c seems to have burnt off at some stage, but there were only 5 fatalities, I'm amazed. The flight crew did a magnificent job for sure.
