that wanted to say hi and Thank You all for these wonderful BRITISH airplanes that You make for our enjoyment!! I´m btw trying (read: trying) to do some finnish repaints of the Rapide and the Anson (pity the Finnish Air Force didn´t have the Chipmunk, oh well...). Repainting isn´t that easy (to me anyway) but I guess practice makes you... ANGRY, well, have to try anyway. So I´ll be hanging around although some said this is some kind of a madhouse (probably why I feel at home
Cheers

Hi markie
Nice to have you aboard.
As Ben says it will be nice to have some Brits painted up in Finnish colours......if you can finish :roll:
No worries....don't let anything hold you up...any problems no matter how small they seem to you just make a post in the repaint section and someone will soon answer and help you out.
There is very little.....if indeed anything, that can catch you out that hasn't caught most or all of us out when we we gettiing going.
Let it be fun....share the hassles and get sorted.

Hi and thanks to You all for Your kind welcoming words,
As I said I´m working on two repaints for the D. Garwood Rapide, namely the Aero Oy (pre-Finnair) OH-BLA "Salama" (Lightning) and OH-BLB "Lappi" (Lapland). They both flew domestic routes in Finland in the 30´s, with the OH-BLB serving in the Air Force for a short while before the Germans mistakingly shot it down believing it was an enemy plane. With Daves suberp paint kit it will not be that hard to paint them after all=)
I have also some plans for the Avro Anson, Airspeed Oxford and the Britten Islander in some Air Force schemes but let´s take one hurdle a time.
By the way have You noticed that repainting is easier with a few pints down the throat;), oh, let´s not talk about the quality!
Anyway thanks again for letting me in:)

I don't know about the pints helping..but you could always do what I do and check them with a pair of 100 per cent solid black glasses.

Eric;
thanks, it shure looks like a very friendly and nice site. I´ve been around Avsim and Flightsim for a few years and it seems that a colder and more hostile climate has been coming on, I don´t know, maybe it´s just me imagining things?!?
Garry;
that sounds like good idea... and some crutches to stop the shaking=)

Welcome Markie
Hmmm Finnish airforce??? Sounds like a nice addition to the old eclectic hangar - Theres a nice Blenhiem Mk1 that someone
started a while back (Rick) that would look dynamite in FAF colours .
Mieluinen, ja iloita ystävyys tähän
