Your comments on the COD weathering state are very useful, Seaking, cheers for them. Now that we've nailed the colour, little details like that will be helpful - I'm thinking some mild paint chipping, and exhaust fumes/streaking, but the latter will be harder to show over a darker colour. Nevertheless, they will be there!

LOL, Trev, it takes seven pages to create greatness  We don't want to do the ex-RN folk on here an in justice now :prayer:

p.s., yes Dave, they are cracking models, esp. the first ones, I wouldn't mind getting my hands on one of them one day after all this Gannet-talk.

p.p.s. I just realised I made a bit of a boo-boo with the original thread name - there is no ASW 3 as you probably all knew, and this model certainly isn't a AEW.3. Therefore I have renamed the thread AS.1/6 and COD.4 to be a little more accurate to the repaints I'm doing. Cheers for bearing with the Gannet noob

Seaking..
Did you see this link posted by Techy??.. http://www.abpic.co.uk/photo/1040257/

I reckon she looks pretty good there. Perhaps a little dark because of lack of light but definately an accurate colour given the circumstances :) Not as shiney as the Wessex but the Wessex is an 'on display' aircraft. Somewhere in between the two is what Steve is aiming at and weathering should do that very nicely ;-)
If you reckon the Wessex is too blue mate.. please don't be afraid to say so and Steve will tone it accordingly

Great pic, go with a shade darker to minus the lighting and you would be just about right, with
the weathering your planning it will be great to see.

Well, here are the latest COD.4 Gannets based off all the feedback. Along with a couple of minor tweaks, I took the existing colour I'd used and added a touch more blue, very slightly to get what we've all been after. See what you think (FOAC-2 now ready as well):
