It sounds as though it could have been a lot worse.Thank goodness there wasn't any serious injuries or fatalities.EricT

I just re-read it, and for those that don't know what happened:

The Dash8-Q400 enroute CPH-AAL, apparently had troubles with the landing gear.
When performing emergency landing, the aircraft tipped and the wing caught the ground and broke into fire.
The fire was quickly extinguished, and everybody "walked" from the crash.

That's the few details I know.

Blimey look at those blades shooting off! Wouldn't it have been better to have that engine feathered over the threshold like a full gear failure?

I did not understand this to be an emergency landing, but an unheralded collapse of the gear. I could see no emergency vehicles which I would have expected to be near the threshold if an anticipated emergency landing was taking place

Dan

Can you translate anything of interest. My Danish is non-existent.

And the video focussed on the gear that collapsed, so it must have been known.
