Hi Chris
as I read it, it's all types making noncombat flights
the types used in the middle east are of the E type which are much newer
and less of a concern for failure.
the F15's being flown in the war are still flying sorties
like they say in hollywood, the war must go on

Actually, that's not quite true. All models of the F-15 are grounded and no version, including the F-15Es will be used unless no other aircraft is available for operational missions (i.e. they'll be on standby, but not scheduled to fly unless they have to).

It remains to be seen what really caused the failure of this aircraft and the partial failure of another from the same unit a few weeks ago. Until then, they're grounding the planes and hopefully we'll find out if it's a crippling grounding or not.

Chris "Mr. busybody I wasn't taliking to you" Trott
you need to reread what I posted
I said all F15 Non combat flights. That would then include E types as well . would you agree?
yes anyone who reads and writes the English language would then assume that includes All types
What I posted was , what was written in the article , that the E are of less concern for failure.
(why because they are newer and therefore less of a risk fatigue failure as written in the article)
besides what do you really know anyways chris, like the DOD reports to you what they're doing? I don;t think so
they'll fly whatever the he H *E* double hocky sticks* they have to fly

ok now you have time to critique what I post here
how about filling the order for the out of production AC I ordered 5 days ago in FlyNET
could you do that ?
yes thank you . run along now.
Or are you going to be less than professional in your duties and hold this against me..

You know what Joe, I didn't say you were wrong I said that the statements weren't quite correct. The article you cited is incorrect. I have 2 articles that state pretty clearly, including one from the AF Times, that states that ALL aircraft are grounded from ALL flights unless in an emergency and that is confirmed by Lt. Gen. Gary North, Commander of our forces in the Middle East -

http://www.airforcetimes.com/news/2007/ ... ng_071104/

http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld ... &cset=true

To quote Gen. North -
Lt. Gen. Gary L. North, the Air Force officer in charge of military aircraft in the Middle East, said in a statement Monday that he would be able to fill the gap with other fighters and bombers in his arsenal.
and from one of Gen. North's aides -
"They're not going to put their aircraft on the flying schedule, but if they really need the combat capability and you've got troops in harm's way, they're going to launch them," the official said.

Oh, and as for filling your order, not my job anymore. It's automatic. Glad you visit the FlyNET forums to keep up-to-date on the goings on over there. :)
