Impressive - doesnt look like the cockpit area and wings are in that bad condition either - certainly not restorable to flying state - but very likely good enough for exhibition

Looks like both cowlings have gone but you can clearly see the supercharger on the right side

If it is in the Harlech area that would put it just north of the old RAE Llanbedr. I wonder if it crashed after take-off from there?

When I lived in the UK I spent many holidays camping on Shell Island adjacent to Llanbedr and the binos were permanently around my neck during the day as the field was used for T 'n' G's by the guys from RAF Valley. Llanbedr was also home to the Jindavik (sp) target drone guided by either Canberra or Meteor 'shadows'. It used to be great fun to sit on the huge sand dunes there and watch the Hawks 'dogfighting' with the drones out over the bay.

Happy days! :lol:
