Im NO Peter Mc ...but

Im rather pleased with the results
a couple of screenies at the little airport Ive built to teach me how to build Ashaig airfield in Skye
Although the airfield is fictious the location exists pretty much as depicted without any additions
Again thanks a huge one to Peter for giving me the tools and the impetus to get on and do this
Welcome to the Paliolo Ranch in Kaupo Maui
Four mile finals - the runway is 3500 x 75 turf with a long overrun on the east end it lies halfway between Hana and Kahalui
on the South shore of Maui
you can see the overrun into the paddock to the east of the access road and yes its a DC3 - Ive landed the 3 and a HS748 there safely
Looking east along the parking area - and heres why i posted - how can I remove the taximay marking and STILL keep
the route open for AI aircraft????
Nothing nearly as fancy as McLeland field - but its home - The Farm house is actually VOZ scenery but looks very similar to
older houses on Maui.
Thanks for any ideas about the taxiway markings

Looks good to me Leif
The important thing is that it appears to sit within it's surrounds something not all add ons seem to do.
Now you can ad bits and make it busier and even expand just like many real airports grew from levelled fields
Good practice for Lympne eh!

In the first paragraph of my post
"a couple of screenies at the little airport Ive built to teach me how to build Ashaig airfield in Skye"
Its on the way - and probably Lympne before its over
Cheers

Leif, open it in AFCAD, right click on each link of the taxiways select properties in properties sellect No Line for all three left, right and centre that should do it and Ai will not be affected.
Very nice

Leif does the bits of concrete coincide with any parts of the taxiways etc, check all your taxiway links etc are set as grass in the respective properties box

Leify..
Concur with Rich's comment. You should be able to get rid of them by either changing the angle of a curve or the distance between nodes. Surprising how many payware products show this trait too!!
Rgr on the scenery ;-)

Leif,
Select by RIGHT clicking the taxyway line in AFCAD and look at the properties...There is a drop down list of materials...You would be safe to make it Grass or Dirt and then reduce its width to Zero...You will then need to look at its adjoining line to make it the same and so on and so on. Also, it is not really possible to stop some marks of some kind appearing where you add a "Hold Short" node. On a grass airfield like this you could get away with ALL taxiways being Green Apron lines with Zero width and no lines or lights. You could also make that black line down the centre of the runway Zero width dirt or grass. The runway itself must have the width and surface you wish to see and there are Tabs in the Runway Properties that allow you to choose markings, Vasis and lights. If you have made a scenery runway surface outside AFCAD and don't wish to mark it then make the Actual runway in AFCAD (not the line down the middle) have a width of 0.001 feet...this should make the AFCAD runway invisible on your scenery runway. One point about this VERY narrow runway is that because of its very narrow width it will probably not quite coincide with the Black AFCAD line down its centre...Now when you use Tools to check for errors you will get errors called "Misplaced Runway Links"...All you need to do is temporarily increase the AFCAD Runway width from 0.001 to say 30 feet...Now check for errors again and you will find all those errors have gone. This means that those errors are not actually important and you can shrink its width back to 0.001 and ignore the errors.
BTW...it is best to set the properties of a taxyway or apron line right at the beginning when you lay the very first one...Then all subsequent lines laid will have the same properties.
Just a final note of caution...EVERY exit or entrance to a runway MUST have a red "Hold Short" node and when placing these have the View > Show Hold Short Limits selected so that when you place a red node, its red circle appears too...This red circle MUST reach the edge of the runway for AI Traffic to work correctly, but remember the case of reduced width (for this reason I always make the circle touch the centreline rather that the edge). If when placing the red nodes you "Miss" with the red circle then just click the "UNDO" icon and try again.
