The model, (based on the excellent Intruder) seems to continue the upward movement in Alphasim quality....and price.

Ah.. but does it have the ability to stall at a moments notice when flying at anything other than straight and level??

I was dead keen on this and it was a definite purchase until I found out that the vanes on the front of the ECM pods don't rotate, so I don't know if I can justify £20 at the moment for a model that I'll just alpha out the ECM pods on and fly either clean or clean with two tanks... just doesn't seem worthwhile. But that said I believe Razbams Prower will be FSX only so chances are this will be the only decent EA-6B for FS9.

I believe the lack of rotation on the pod vanes was because AS couldn't get an animation that looked convincing, so elected to leave then static.

BTW have you seen the preview of their upcoming Sabre?

Best wishes

Kirk Olssen's F-86 will take some beating, I know it's over a year old but it still looks pretty fantastic and flies like a dream.

I quite like the approach on the FS_KBT EF/A-18G, they have the vanes set to work as props so admittedly they change with the throttle but they are so small and spin so fast the changes aren't noticeable and I'd sooner have them spinning from engines on than not spinning at all. :-(

Bit the bullet anyway (I know, I know, there is a RAZBAM one coming out soon should have waited and compared etc etc) but I love the Intruder/Prowler. Just knocked up a couple of fictional FAA repaints for the Prowler:

If that had been an ETPS paint.. I reckon you'd have got away with it (for me anyway). Giving them FAA Sqn liveries on the other hand is almost sacrificial.

A) They're American
B) We don't have any aircraft carriers

Might work for someone though and that's the beauty of fsim ;-)
