We have a team of highly trained assassins from Brooklands (read OAP's) camping out to get their hands on the Vanguard trainer!! ;-)

Just put a Lone Ranger type mask over her cockpit windows.......no one will recognise her then.

She appeared to be outside in the news report but I would think that would be top of the list for the airport to try to keep.

Ahhh.. ok mate. I didn't think MF was part of the museum anyway but I'm out of touch. It'd certainly be a pleasure to have her at Brooklands.. her original BCal livery would finish the job :dancer:

Hmmmmmmm

He was standing by a One-Eleven perhaps it's another one they have there :dunno: .

Not been there so I can't say....perhaps that's one of the VM's.

Still I wouldn't want to see another One-Eleven scrapped :-(

Hello mate,

I've not seen the report so can't comment. The museum DID have a 1-11 on the books which was used for all manner of things. As far as EAL are concerned.. they had a gallon of 1-11's on their books at one time and I've no idea what happened to any of them. When DM released the 2004 1-11's.. I got in touch with EAL to confirm the colour of MikeFox (she looks black in some shots and dark blue in others). At that time, she was mothballed but much has happened since then. I remember EAL had 2 of their 737-200's up for sale and have since learned that these are still 'active'. MF's CofA expired in 2004 and she was de-registered in 2006 but beyond that.. her fate remains unknown.

That said.. the obvious thing to do is to check the Bournemouth Aviation Museum site which I've just done and yes.. they DO have MF on their books. Let's hope she doesn't end up as scrap as 500's are not common :-(

Sadly there was a bit of activity a while ago and just about all the One-Elevens the were sectioned up .

I think a lot of the final breaking went on elsewher but it was rather sad.

MF of course has a place in history when it operated the end of service charters which was the subject of the video posted the other day.

The other worthy is the Herald

One of the types early services with Jersey Airlines was Bournemouth CI and that's where it ended after landing from Guernsey.

Two very British aircraft..two more than worthy exhibits.

And I'll have G-AOYN's cockpit, think it actually belongs to Duxford though :'(
