Hi all,

I have just received this from a friend. Don't know if it is really happening but...........

Hi Ladies/Gents

There is a 'Hoax' email marked as if it is from AOL but it is
definitely NOT. Check Keyword: Official Mail to see how mail should
look.

This one is demanding the update of your billing information within 24
hours or your contract will be terminated. It all looks pretty
convincing but it is a con. I have just been on 'Live Help' to check
it out and they have confirmed that as it is not on official AOL Mail
it is a hoax. Worryingly the hoaxers are asking for your payment
details

Hi Graham

Those sort of scams happen often

I have had them and ignored them, the real providers would not do that

I even have had emails asking me to confirm the details a loan when I have not even got one.

I just ignore all those along with offers of a free trial period on software that requires personal details like credit card number................as an identity check.....yeah right :@

Hi Graham, any company that either telephones or requests details of any account via e-mail saying that they need to update their records......ignore it. I had my bank (though I don't think it was) call me asking for some details, I refused and said if any details are required then make me an appointment for me to come in.....Never heard anything else from them.

Nigel.

Fully understand the absolute No No of giving personal details out and I would not dream of using AOL as I consider it to be a "virus."

I only posted the above in case anyone was tempted.
