That Viscount actually manages to look sorry for itself, and with good reason

The Viscount would benifit by a wash and a straighten up

All grimy and siting wonky does give more of an impression of awaiting disposal rather than restoration. :-(

Only a small matter but perhaps the difference between money given or not :think:

Last time I was there.. I don't recall there being a Viscount at all (and that sort of thing, I tend to notice). Guess is mate that this is how it arrived and they've not had a chance to get her sorted yet

Nice pics indeed, Toby, very artistic with the b/w and low angles.

When I was last there in November, I had a good chat with their current warden, a very nice chap whom I forget his name, regarding restorations. Basically it all boils down to what you can give - if you've got the time and can make it down there regularly, you can pretty much take on a 'project' and do as much or as little as you can manage. It's a very hands-on and welcoming place, and I DEARLY wish I lived a lot closer to there sometimes so I could help clean up some of the birds they have waiting. If you do meet the warden I would recommend a stroll through their scrapyard to see what little delights they have just waiting for someone to lavish attention on.

I had a gander at the Vickie and the warden gave me some scoop on it which has slipped my mind now (I was there primarily for the Sea Hawk and Gannet).
