N51 55.45 W1 13.40 Just flying over it in the 10 and its covered in cars, but looks resonably modern judging by the shape of the hard standings etc. :dunno:

Cheers Bob. Just landed the 10 at Weybridge, so poped on for a look and think your right. Anyone know what used to be there, when it closed etc?

What an interesting Site, I had no idea how big that base was until I got into all of the Galleries, even by RAF Standards, that was quite a large base.

Has quite a few remnents of a lost era, what with the majority of buildings being underground and featuring decontamination chambers.

Thanks for sharing that.

USAF F-100 Super Sabre until 1970 when the first F-111E arrived (the first based deployment of the F-111 outside the US).

IIRC these were involved with the bombing of Libya.

Initially wearing the tails codes JR/JS/JT for the 3 F-111 squadrons, these all became tail code UH.

EDIT: Alphasim have FS9 scenery for Upper Heyford on the freeware page
