Christmas comes early...

Checked Classic British Files this morning and found - Gemini.zip - Number 4 of Don Putnams sound files this time of a Miles Gemini, two Cirrus Minors in flight Ready to be added to a certain Miles product now in...
Downloaded it and when I opened the zip file I found, not a sound - but the aircraft itself - deep joy - sheer bliss.
Many, mant thanks to Dave Molyneaux :prayer: :prayer: :prayer:
Then searched all nodes for Don Putnam and found Gemini.zip This time, when opened, it was the twin Cirrus Minor sound.
As in the title of this ramble - Christmas does indeed come early.

And the sound files are on all nodes. Between this and the M20, Santa has been good. As I should have been out hacking at trees this afternoon - I haven't.

:flying: :flying:
Many thanks to Ted C, Dave M, and Don for their efforts - and Leif for the posting!

ACK!!!!!!!
:@ :@ :@ :brick: :brick: :brick: :brick: :brick: STUPID
I screwed up
I had two files marked Gemini on my computer one with the sound files and One with
Davids PreBeta Gemini!!!!!!!!!!!
Guess which one I uploaded? (what a nimnal)
Its off the site
EVERYONE Please note
This is a very early beta model for Davids Gemini and the FDE is totally unsuitable at present
DO NOT write and complain to David M that its totally nose heavy and cannot be trimmed
he knows! The final version will appear very soon , but in the mean time it would appear he has
just gained 77 beta testers!!!!!
David Im sorrry I uploads the Beta instead of Dons sound set!!!!
Leif (feeling really really stupid)

No complaints from me Leif.
As you will see from my original post, I was expecting the sound file and lo and behold, I have become a beta tester.
A struggle, but I was able to get her flying straight and level and am enjoying the flying.
I E-mailed both David & Don to thank then for their work, and was rather puzzled when I received a reply from David saying he hoped I would enjoy the aircraft when it was released, and I am sure he was also wondering what the **!!** I was banging on about
All now becomes clear.
Don't worry about the cock up, the only person who never makes a mistake, is the one who never does 'owt.
At the end of that ramble, I am highly delighted with the product as it is, and now you tell me it is going to be improved - oh boy.

Guessed as much, which is why I said nowt about the CG heading out the nose!
A Gemini in need of tweeking is still one more than we have(had), so no grumbles. Besides the FDs for the Messenger were fine when Dave originally popped it onto his site, so no problem waiting for the formal issue of the Gemini.
Meantime it gives me an excuse to get the CG gauge out and have a fiddle.

Well, that was a surprise ! :o :o Thought maybe I'd been imbibing a bit too much of the hop-juice. No harm done, and Leif has sent me an abject apology - accepted, of course.
It shows there is some interest for a Gemini, so I feel pleased with that ! You're right Filonian, I was a bit puzzled by your mail to me - all is now explained.
I placed the C.O.G datum on the model in the position where Miles show it in their pilots notes but she needs a load of scrap iron in the back to fly sweetly. I was concerned when I sent the model to Brian Horsey for tweaking - I couldn't find an entry in the .cfg file for the engine weights (which are well forward of the C.O.G.) , so don't know if FS9 assumes much heavier engines than the old Cirrus ones ??. There's supposed to be a luggage compartment in the nose -negative matter is called for ??
So, bear with us - I have confidence that it will be solved soon - and then ...
Cheers
Dave M
PS - good job I'd finished the model and textures - wouldn't have liked you to see her without her makeup !

Looks like I've missed out on "Christmas".

Looking forward to seeing the completed Gemini.

Ah, that's a variation I haven't included although I'm familiar with that paint job. Wanted to leave something for others to show their skills on !
Cheers CHEERS
