Also the museums news pages have removed the reference to them in negotiations to save the CL-44-O

Have their relocation plans backfired???

Anyone in the area know anything???

If the above are anything like it looks then the future of One-Eleven G-AZMF is looking bleak

"Let's bury anything that is remotely British and pretend it never happened" seems to be the attitude. Funny how bricks and mortar can be listed but not something that moves made of aluminium of historic significance.

They'll be scrapping Big Ben next, or at the very least sticking a dome on top of it

Smacks of lets do it quickly before anyone notices.

In Jersey they have listed a harbour crane as a historic building so why can't aeroplanes be the same.........maybe they can.

They could say the Herald was not unique but the Cosford trio was.

Developers....and money would mean the Herald was just junk, these people do not live in the real world and have no intention of doing so....money money, money and trash anything in their way. :@

That's a shame, if it's true. As you say Garry, the Herald is not unique, but what if the Gatwick one is next...then Elvington......

It's even worse for the similar 748 - not ONE yet preserved in the UK...after ALL THESE BL**DY YEARS!!!

I'm still annoyed that they chopped up XS790 - former Queens flight Andover (that used to fly over my house) and then with DERA, which gave it a very interesting history indeed...... :@

Cosford Trio.....BOAC Standard VC 10 (different to the type at Brooklands), RR Boeing 707 and Trident 1C

The two that were saved........ V.701 Viscount and BAC One-Eleven 500 had other examples at Duxford.

There was once quite a few Comets 2's kicking around but one by one they have been culled..not to extinction yet, but give 'em time :-( .....this is what could happen to the Herald.

What sad pictures. :-( That really is a great pity.
I had read on one of the other forums that due to it's past history there was an relevant oganisation making moves to save it/have it moved (the exact details escape me ). I guess that never came to fruition.
