Another four engined Avro Bomber to take to the skies . . .

Wow, what way to end the week!!!
It's just starting to sink in that XH558 is back on the display circuit, and I’ve become accustomed to seeing her all week, parked on Waddington’s south east dispersal as I travel to and from Crawell on the A607 (fingers crossed she’ll be based at Waddington permanently!!!).
Then I read this in the local paper this evening :o :
http://thisislincolnshire.co.uk/display ... K=21061640
I’ve lost count of the amount of taxi runs I’ve watched at East Kirkby so I’m ecstatic to hear that serious thought is now going into making Just Jane Airworthy.
I wonder if the Pantons were at Waddignton on Saturday and all the excitement of seeing XH558 displaying again (and together with PA474) has spurred them on?

It's always been the ultimate ambition of the Panton bros. Maybe the Vulcan success has just spurred them on.
As ever, there's probably a greater chance of this not happening, but it'll be nice if it does.

Great news, but I thought there was a problem with the main spar?

Ben you are correct, the main spar is cracked... But i was also under the impression that they would never fly her outside of the area at least due to a loss of revenue as Just Jane is the main atraction at East Kirkby... Any i like the reply on the Echo site "8 Merlins in syc"... Its a shame the Bros run JJ on petrol!

Rumour has it that the main spar was inspected relatively recently and found to be in better condition than had original been thought.
Looking forward with anticipation to the Pantons announcement next month.

I'm surprised, although pleasantly!!
When I went last year I was speaking to one of the engineers who looks after her and asked whether it would be possible for the Lanc to fly. His reply was yes but there are no plans as it is too valuable an aircraft to lose.
Then again, if it does fly just think of the possibility of it formating up on the 'Battle of Britain' Lanc at an airshow, now what a sight and sound that would be!!

..And maybe to valuable to insure too, without major sponsorship - a similar situation to that faced by Sally B.

Well you can forget that for at least 5 years, with the way the comercial world is heading!
