I didn't realise until I watched the second time Garry they were sitting under a bridge and he passed under it

Didn't see the bridge, but I do know under the IMO rules for preventing collision at sea that Sea Planes/Flying Boats have right of way so what the idiot who drove right in front of him was doing I've got no idea.

Funny think the nautical right of way. I did a lot of timekeeping for yacht/dinghy racing down at Port Edgar, in the 'Tardis' at the end of the eastern breakwater. By rights, steam (or powered) should give way to sail, but it of course isn't practical when someone's in a Laser or Cat and there's 30,000 tonnes of cargo heading down the Firth of Forth from Grangemouth , and even at that slow speed they would be out at the Inch before they could stop :o

I've seen dinghys overturned at 600yds just by the water these things displace. But the PIC of that boat is obviously a loon...

If you watch right as the beaver passes them the camera pans around and you just catch a bridge support before it
pans under the bimini top on the bridge. The aircraft took off under a bridge - I think thats probably a little more dangerous than who has the right of way -- Lake Alatoona just North of Atlanta was one of the few COE lakes that was approved
for seaplane operation even then areas were clearly marked and boaters were told to give way. The largest aircraft i ever saw
use it was a Grumman Albatross quite impressive - but that video just shows how bloody stupid people are both in boats and aeroplanes

Ahh, I think I assumed it was a piece of the boat! Not the smartest move ever in that case although it's be interesting to see how big the bridge actually is.

Ah well- I wondered why they didnt seem terribly perturbed about the aircraft bearing down on them - Then I guessed
that it they were sitting under a bridge they wouldnt feel threatened until the aircraft passed under the bridge which is
what all the kerfuffle on the tape is about also when they pan back to look at the aircraft its still at relativly the same height
as when if passed over them.
