I stood in my front garden watching it for around 25 mins, it didn't drop down any lower than you can see in the pictures.

It changed shape a few times before it eventually died out, but the best pics were at the beginning!

Saw a similar thing over Manchester about 7 years ago. Quite spectacular, just because of what it is!

No need to worry until it touches the ground. :$
