I stood in my front garden watching it for around 25 mins, it didn't drop down any lower than you can see in the pictures.

It changed shape a few times before it eventually died out, but the best pics were at the beginning!

It was so peaceful to watch mate, had my boys watching it with me! Not the first time I've seen one here either!

Saw a similar thing over Manchester about 7 years ago. Quite spectacular, just because of what it is!

No need to worry until it touches the ground.
