One Eleven Flap Settings.

I have worked for 4 airlines operating the One Eleven, and must say I find Dave Maltby's aircraft absolutely superb. I have spent probably around 2-300 hours on the jump seats of One-Elevens and the first time I saw DM's, it was like I was back there again.

Even more impressed when the 510ED variation came out.

However... in the One Eleven panel manual, DM mentions the flap settings associated with the NLE (New Leading Edge) wing. (The BIA 500's had this, as did G-AZUK, -476FM with Mediterranean Express)

Any plans to Model this??

Hi Nigel :)

The simple answer here is.. I honestly don't know  DM has been quiet for a while which can mean just about anything from he's lost the will to continue or he's been busy beavering away at an update that none of us know anything about  It's not something he's mentioned in passing (or at all for that matter) but for sure.. he's the only one with the answer ;-)

I would have thought..given the limitations of making shapes with points and polys, plus the fact this is not really visible in real life from normal distances, that something like this was not worth modelling. :dunno:

Careful Dave, you know full well what happens here when such things are written!!

Dan and Ian may be thinking that there is a VC for the 'you know what' coming out!! :-#

Was thinking more about the flap settings than the NLE profile.

NigelC Welcome my friend

You werent employed by Dan Dare were you?

The NLE flap setting were for short field or hot and high - from what i remember they negated the use of flaps 15
and gave a flaps 5 and flaps 1 setting

With the One-Eleven, I worked for BIA(400,500), Mediterranean Express(475), Dan Air(200,300,400,500) and Air Bristol(510ED).

Flap settings for OLE were 8,18,26 and 45. NLE were 6,13,20,26 and 45 if I recall correctly. 1-11 never had flap 1, 5 or 15, they are Boeing figures.

Hi Nigel..

6, 13, 20, 26 and 45 coincide with what 'SYD' has at Brooklands and 'MU' at Duxford so the old memory is working just fine mate  Funny thing is.. I can't understand why these aren't replicated in the model  Careful as you are.. there's always something that slips through the net. Perhaps it's down to the ref material/Flight manual used which happens to be for an AA 200 :dunno:

EDIT..
As a footnote Nigel, I've just realised that much of the current panel was taken from the previous version and this was based quite heavily around AZMF which remained OLE until it was retired. Phew.. I knew we'd got it from somewhere less obscure than a flight manual!
