Last week I purchased a book written by Jonny Kent 'One of the Few' a brilliant read and one that I would strongly recommend, I have literally had to tear myself away from it to write this.
Incidentally, in one of his chapters when sitting for his Canadian PPL examinations on 'Air Regulations' he remembers 'An aircraft in fog was to proceed with caution making a loud noise such as ringing a bell'
Now, would that have been on the ground.....or in the air? :think:
Coming back to the purpose of this post in one of the few photographs shown I came across a Nene Lancastrian and thought it might be of interest
The bell ringing could be manoeuvring on the water in fog, does sound like one of the Rules of the Road for Collision Avoidance at Sea that they make you learn at Dartmouth.
Thanks Skippy, in the book it did not say whether or not it was in the air!! :o on the ground or on the water, but as Canada had a few lakes then that would be the most likely place.
