...oh my! So much to catch up on!!
Only been away a week or so, and it's going to take me that long to get up to date with goings on. Don't think I've ever seen a forum as active as this.
After spending quite some time getting my fsim how I liked it, with shiney aircraft, airports, traffic etc, Vista decided it no longer wanted to start up, and switching on the machine resulted in only a black screen.Muchos head scratching ensued. I managed to discover that if the battery (it's a laptop
) was removed for 10 mins or so and replaced it would start up and go into system recovery, but only occasionally. When in "recovery" I tried the "error checks" which never found anything and tried system restore which failed.
So I phoned Sony. Got straight through to a lovely Irish bloke who told me to press F10 while the computer was powering up. Then I pressed a button which restored the computer to "factory settings" and hey presto all is working. Should have phoned straight away, but I didn't for a second think it would be so straight forward! All I have to do now is reload all the fsim stuff...again.
Oh and figure out how to tell my girlfriend that i wiped the holiday photos
