I would think it wouuld be an Islander on the Bara run

I can't imagine a Super King Air landing on a beach with all that salt water :o

The films were made by the BBC so there will be some common personel

To update the current position, there are a couple of KingAir 200's operating many of the Air Ambulance runs. Additionally there are a couple of EC135 helicopters which I think handle the smaller islands where air strips are either too small or non-existant. I don't think that the Islander aircraft are still available. I haven't seen or heard of them over the islands for a couple of years now. BTW, I had to travel i one of the KingAir aircraft when they were first introduced as my wife needed airlifting to Inverness. Very impressive aircraft equipped with Collins Proline 21 avionics. The crew were like kids playing with a new toy!

Andy, where is the concerned husband? - there is your poor wife, so ill that she requires to be airlifted to Inverness - and all that grabs your attention is the fact that the aircraft is equipped with Collins Proline 21 avionics.

There is an excellent Scottish Air Ambulance paint of the EC135 'Budgie' at UKMIL.

There are textures for G-SASC and G-SASD that use Henry Tomkiewicz's AI Beechcraft King Air B200 (which can be made flyable)

And G-SASC is available for the stunning Aeroworx Super King Air.

Believe me John I was the concerned husband. In a state of complete panic when the problems started. There were 2 airlifts about a couple of years apart. The first was the most serious, indeed life threatening. The second, this time in the KingAir, was much less so, more to get a specialist hospital's opinion as they had treated her the first time. Happily everything was OK and, touching wood, still is.

I already have the Aeroworx B200 and the Scottish Air Ambulance paint for it. Superb! The helicopters I leave alone as I can't seem to get them to land in one piece usually :-(
