FSX 146's

Hi Chaps,

Just re downloaded the HJG / Jon Murchison 146 v1.1. When I went over to the BAe panel project site, I see that Matthais has closed the project. The site is still up, and he has made available his last 146 panel for FSX as a beta. I'd just like to thank Mattais for his wonderful 146 / ARJ panels over the years. I have always found them excellent and I'm very sorry to see this finish, that said, I wish him all the best for his future. :welldone:

I know Jon has given up on the idea (or so I hear) of a FSX version of the 146, but does anyone know of an FSX version in developement anywhere, freeware or payware?

Jon's current version flys quite well in FSX, but just curious if anyone knows if anything is in the pipeline?

I didn't know John had given up on the FSX.

Last I heard he was still on it and had of course done an FS.9 upgrade for HJG to host.

The FSX stuff seems to have died a death mate. But its no big problem, just funnies like the lights and the airbrakes that don't come back in after they have deployed. I'm imagining the loss of Matthais would have been a blow to the project too.

Hi Dan, Thats Matthais's panel (the last one he never quite finished) for the 146 and the one I'm currently using. Works a treat other than once deployed the speed brake won't return.

It doesn't include a model ;-)

Hi Ben

i tried the 146 and it flies so unlike a BAe 146 that i give up

it couldn't be more wrong if i used a spitfire FDE.

can't start the engines or even get the avionics to switch on.

the wingtip trails are about 10 ft from where they should be so it's binned.

shame as i was hoping it would be better

Rick

when i install the panel which has no guide to which of the 10 or so zips inside it the whole thing goes to the wall.

there is only a 300 & a QT available so i really fail to understand what is needed as none of it has any direct clues!

Hi Rick,

I'm not a massive fan of the current 146 as i feel the FDE is way off and the wing roots have been modeled at the front, but textured at the back. I feel its something half finished which is disapointing.

As Matthais says on his site, he has released the 4.1 panel as a beta as it was never fully finished, fo the FDE's etc in there don't relate to the HJG / JM model but actually to the old FS9 model, so much of the stuff in the package can be ignored. The panel itself works well and the procedures are well documented, its just there is no suitable model out there that i know of. I may give the PH model a go in FSX. In FS9 I had the Eurowings package which i thought was good, but again the fde wasn't quite there.

Unfortuantely as there are fewer and fewer 146 / RJ's in the skys, there doesn't seem to be anyone keen on making one, commercially or otherwise. The last Britsish classic?

I'll dig out what i did to get the panel to work in the HJG model when i get home mate, but I think you'll be disapointed. :-(

Hi Ben

the model is fine mate (not critisizing the model at all) :$

same for the panel

just doesn't fly right.

I would love to make a Payware 146 but there are 5 models and at least 3 panels with rules out a full set with a 3d VC for me as it would take years to program.

which i guess is why John has stopped

Anyway gone back to the default FDE and will tweak it to what feels right and goes with the Flight Manuals i have.

Regards
Rick

Hi Rick,

Yep there are at least 5 models, infact theres probably nearer 10 if you count all the variants, and knowing how much time went into the VC in the Hawk, I can totally understand how the prospect of two different ones doesn't appeal  I suppose its unfair for me to critisize the HJG / ML one too much as it IS and FS9 model and not designed for FSX and as I can't do any better myself....

Just had a look about and the best bet seems to be the Aerosoft FS9 model, with the ML panel. I know I bought it ages ago, so I'll see if i still have it lurking.

I seem to remember a whisper at the start of the year that Aerosoft had commisioned a full FSX one, but haven't heard anymore since.
