Great vid.

Is the No.3 engine only started just before the take-off run, or is it just an Illyushin?

Amazing..and didn't the props take a long time to stop but perhaps they were cut from a high RPM.

something in my memory seems to think the #3 has a propellor brake to allow engine to be used
as an APU ('hotel' mode of operation, the SAAB 340 can also do this with its' #2 engine)

I couldn't help thinking when they zoomed into the crew that had things been ever so slightly different they may not have been here now.

I think it was an optical illusion on the #3. If you look the #4 is seemingly stopped as well. It is simply a function of the video quality and prop speed.

As for the spool down time, it's slightly longer than on the Convair 580, so I wouldn't ascribe it to be especially short.
