Shows how much attention I pay, I must need new specs (or I've had a stroke as well, BOOM BOOM!)speedbird591 wrote:In para 3 of the BBC article it says he had a stroke. Poor man - how terrifying must that be in normal circumstances. But to have to land a plane whilst unable to see is quite incredible. The article says he is seriously ill, which suggests a long recovery at best. Very sad.

The report I read earlier mentioned that he was talked down until he could see/make out the runway - so it obviously seems to have impaired his vision significantly, not completely.Chris H wrote:Wonder what the medical condition was and how "blind" it made him. Not that I'm taking anything away from how terrifying it must have been, I'm just trying to cut through the media hype and BS.
Chris, I thought very much the same till I took another look, they updated the report since we last visited!! :doho:Shows how much attention I pay, I must need new specs (or I've had a stroke as well, BOOM BOOM!)
