And how has someone managed to preserve a Maestro!
Shouldn't the question be why!

To be fair I thought the Monetgo was quite a good looking car.... but the Maestro? Although it did have the worlds first talking dashboard. And the Rover 200 BRM was just odd as it was noteably slower and less well spec'd than the other 2 sporty models.

Superb photos and very much like the MG sports cars.
Maestro? Thought there would have been a Marina or two there as well!!
Regards
Nigel.

I used to know somebody who had a Rover 200BRM. The interior was one of the most extraordinary I've ever seen, everything was leather and everything was red!

Yup.. I saw the Maestro and shuddered. Had one for 2 years and it went through 3 sets of front wheel bearings. The BIGGEST load of pony I've ever parted money for

Fortunately, I chopped it in for a car I DID want.. a 2.0 Montego Si (a surprisingly nice car) and had the Maestro not been accepted in part-ex.. I'd have left it on the forecourt for free
Nice shots Toby. I knew this post was one of yours even before checking who'd posted ;-)

Cheers chaps, gotta be the Triumphs for me too. Interesting Dave about the Maestro - you do realise that that and a Montago are largely the same vehicle I believe? Amusingly, it lives on in the form of the rear suspension in my Rover 25 which is also basically that of a Maestro apparently!

Hi Toby
From what I remember the Montego came out afterwards as a saloon version of the hatchback Maestro
