A friend sent me this clip today. I think the guy's balance and strength is astonishing. Assuming the clip isn't a fake of course! :o

Probably not a fake
I was a VSO for three years in Belize:
http://www.vso.org.uk/
Part of the training for those in the construction trades, like me, was the understanding that in 'developing' countries first world rules don't apply....no H&S, no building inspectors, no steel toe-capped boots...
...luxury
That guy has been balancing bricks since he was a kid ;-)

A lot of trible women in Africa balance tall weights on their head
A tall urn of water is not only very heavy but would tend to slop a bit and be quite unstable
But they walk along the rough roads as if it was nothing.
He places the bricks in a certain way too
As Del says it is a life skill practiced form an early age........from necessity too.
We are amazed that thease people can do this sort of thing but I bet they are even more amazed in the fact that we can't.

Nicely put Garry ;-)
Here's the lads and myself (I'm taking the photo) digging my cess-pit...38C in the shade but a good time was had by all..really, you had to be there. They knew how to do it and I didn't. I've still got a lot to learn ;-)

Until you see something like that you just don't realise how lucky we are, that photo of Dereks' for instance, if I were to work in those temperatures and then have a photo taken it would be of a............ crumpled, exhausted heap on the floor with no smile.
OK, so they may be used to the heat but considering that they don't have the luxuries that we take for granted whatcaught my attention was that they are all smiling, next time your're out and about, just take a look at the grumpy lot wandering around the town centres!!
Nigel.
