Very odd seeing Noble Frankland DFC talking. Last time I saw him on the box was in "World at War" (albeit not during the original run in 1973!).

Great stuff from John Peters and from un-named younger officers now under training.

Almost no mention of all those who keep the aircrew flying and many viewers might think that everyone in the service has wings and is commissioned. I should have liked to have seen a little more of the Regiment in action. A lot of concentration on war like activities, the A & H bomb tests could have been omitted, coverage of SAR, flood and famine relief, even for a small part of the programme, might have given a better balance. Overall the message was 'this is a fighting service, not a flying club, and has never rested in ninety years.'

Very atmospheric music to accompany the whole programme. Not a note was heard of 'The Royal Air Force March Past', thank goodness.
