Full Motion 6-Axis Simulators on South Coast
Posted: 03 Feb 2009, 18:12
Hi, I've just visited Davit Maltby's site after a long absence which, in between, I have spent many a happy hour flying his wonderful work i.e. the Trident, the BAC 1-11 and who could forget the dear old Comet and it struck me that I would like to thank him personally but don't know how to contact him.
I am fortunate enough to be able to provide sessions in full motion 6-Axis simulators on the South Coast, the options being B747-200, B727-276, B737-200 and we even have an ex BA BAC 1-11, which is very basic but ETPS and RAE still pop along to push buttons and turn knobs every now and again before going back to that heaven they inhabit at Boscombe Down.
Anyway, I don't know where David lives but if ever down this way I would love to extend an offer to 'come fly with me' as a token of my appreciation for all the pleasure he has provided both myself and all us flight simmers over the years...... So if your reading this David sent me PM and perhaps we can arrange something or if somebody knows how to draw his attention to this post please do so.
Also though, I am able to offer substantially discounted rates for all Flight Sim enthusiasts as I am qualified to instruct on them all, so just need to rent the box for the duration. I just cover my travel costs, not in it to make money I just love doing it these days and the Airline appreciate the additional income at weekends when it isn't busy.
I find all types coming for the experience, some have never flown anything at all ever and know nothing but have a natural flare (or I'm a good instructor I suppose, but self praise is no praise as they say) and there are those that couldnt hit the runway if all 3 AP's engaged on Autoland, but I've never had a disapointed customer yet always find some way to excite them. When I get a FS Enthusiast though I know I'm in for some enjoyable mutual flying! Always fun, especially on a CAT3 Auto in the 742!
These are all 'Classic' Ladies, so the only fly-by-wire you'll find is the cables in between the controls and lot of switches, buttons and yes, good old clock gauges, the only IT screens being in the sadists panel!
So, if anybody is genuinely interested drop me an email to [email protected]
PS: All sims can take 3-4 people at a time if people want to share costs.
