Nigel... you MUST get the VFR stuff for FS9. No Scotland in it, but the lakes are superb! Mesh included and no dodgy autogen....

Thanks Ben, will certainly take a look at the VFR, seems that you now have the best of both worlds there :dancer: the only problem if I had FSX as well would be deciding which one to use!!

Will have a go at the A5 Hobby, that is if I can find it!! :$

Nice ones Nige.... Sadly, Ben is throwing up the total lack of decent stuff us Kilties have for our neck of the woods

The Mesh I use is not too bad, but has it's weaknesses..
Arthur's seat is recognisable...
Image
Heading due south over Harperrigg, I can make out East and West Kip - at least I know where I am...
Image
Fair representation of the Ochils....
Image

But, getting to the real stuff, the lack of depth shows....

A blast down Loch Elrich....
the raised lochs and road issue..
Image
Image

Image

Beinn Udlamain looks decent:
Image
Although, it's time to climb and burn as Beinn Bheoil looks more like a glacier
Image

A little further south, I've turned to annoy the boaters on Loch Tay:
Image
Ben Lawers quite nice

But, overall, compared to some mesh and freeware, Scotland (despite having some hot flying areas) is sadly lacking in the add-ons department - there's plenty to see and recognise, but when you get water on stilts and monumental ice-cliffs which don't exist, it does make you sigh now and again..... so even with the fact I would love to 'play' more over here, I am certainly a Holger follower for low level lunacy!

Hi Ben

Nice to see the T7 getting an airing in FSX SP2

think it all still works ok too apart from glass against clouds :) (it was worth following the FS8 SDK then!)

Here's a free FS9 landclass for Scotland, although not a mesh, but landclasses defines the landscape-type (eg. forrest, lake, field etc. etc.)

http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?Ca ... DLID=87166

But here's a FS9-mesh:

1/3:
http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?Ca ... DLID=45224
2/3:
http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?Ca ... DLID=45226
3/3:
http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?Ca ... DLID=45228

They are from 2004, but I don't think the Scottish landscape has changed that much in the past 5 years?

And finally please don't forget:
http://walhalla.mine.nu/fs2004/uk.html - the all time source for free scenery "upgrades" (the link covers UK)
