HS 125

Post by Scorpius »

Thought I'd give you an update on the Dominie.

I have got together all the info I can glean from the net but sadly there do not seem to be any books on the 125. Have 12 days off from work from tomorrow, so next week I will complete the basic aircraft using 3ds max.

I will post some pics then.

P.S. also working on a little suprise for you all!

Cannot wait to see her. Flew twice in the Dominie when stationed at RAF Stradishall, one night navigation sortie and one day. Pity I did not get up in the Varsity though. :-(

Regards
Nigel.

Details and illustrations of all models of the 125 can be found in the hard covered book:

"Hawker, The story of the 125" by Bill Gunston. Published 1996 by Airworthy Publications International Limited ISBN No. 0 952 8845 0X.

The whole story from the Series 1right through to the Hawker 800XP.

Hi,

Since the HS 125 was originally the DH 125 (AKA the Jet Dragon) it reminds me of the great injustice done when DH was "incorporated" in to the HS group whereafter the DH name was dumped - a crying shame after all the great aircraft they made.

I saw a 125 on approach to Valley on a recent coastal walk from South Stack to Holyhead. It was a nice sight and a change from the Hawks. It was quite busy that day as the 125 was followed later by a Tucano and a King Air. This in addition to the earlier sighting of a pair of Tornados and the repeated recce trips of the SAR Sea King around Holy Island. I made a mental note that when walking in north Anglesey you get two hits in one - great scenery and lots of aircraft. :welldone:

Degsy

I always like to think of the 146 as really being a (Ah!) De Havilland aircraft (if anybody remember Uncle Roger) - it is certainly in the DH spirit! :)
