FSX Auster preview

Post by DaveG »

With Dave M's FS9 Auster now released, here's some preview pics of my FSX native Autocrat.

The model will feature the same FD by Brian Horsey as the FS9 model. :)

Release is still a few weeks away yet as there is still much to do.

Looks amazing Dave! Well done!

Dare I ask about VC reflective glass and VC self-shadowing?? ;-)

I'm a big fan of the military Austers. Is there any chance the canopy glass could be extended backwards, thus creating a T7 or T10? Then if the dual controls were removed she could become a AOP 6!

cheers

:o :o

I don't want to pour water on everyones hopes but I'm pretty certain that DG only plans the J1.. at least for the time being. This may change of course at some point in the future but for now.. expect the J1 only ;-)

Btw.. one of those helicopters on your sig flew over here about 10mins ago on it's way (I guess) to Benson and I noticed just how small the sound envelope is for it.. half a mile at most

Indeed, although they are paired up with the Chinook in Afganistan. It strikes me as ironic that one of the quietest helicopters around works with one of the loudest! Went to an excellent talk about this at the FAAM the other week BTW. Anyhow, I'm dangerously off topic here, so I'll stop!

I do agree that Austers do like nice in green and brown. I thought to convert an Autocrat to a AOP.6 would be easy, but its not just the canopy that needs changing......different wing and flap arrangement and tail too are the most distinctive new features. I did take about 100 AOP.6 photos on Saturday, just incase anyone needs them in the future........

No AOP for FSX from me I'm afraid. The J1 is all I'm doing. ;-)

re. reflective glass & self-shadowing VC. It's a full-on FSX native model. Need I say more...
