Classic British Flight Sim

Well after dragging my poor old PC into the 21st Century, I've been catching up on Flightsim. There are some really nice models around at the moment, and one I'm enjoying at the moment is the Alphasim Tornado F.3.



Must find a decent Tiger Moth and a tin of blue paint now.... ;-)

Must say, although I bought the Alpha F3, it's lain dormant since I noticed (annoyingly) the tailerons (as seen in your shot) have the angle change missing. I usually fly the DSB F3, or the IRIS upgraded DSB GR4. It's a shame as overall the Alpha model looks good, but those tailerons just slap me in the face whenever I see them now.

Hope you don't mean the JF Tiger Leif :o I downloaded the demo version this afternoon and was mighty disappointed. Thank goodness they had the demo version though! ;-)

Well, the only freeware one we thought was suitable -- The modeler threw his rattle out of the pram because
he thought we were taking credit away from the modelers because the name of the person submitting the
items at the pond appears on the upload -- Shame because it is the best freeware available and all we wished to do
was re publish it over there - and in three years and a whole bunch of contributors he is the only one to have made an issue of it. So the JF one was the best of a bad lot, Having hung around Tigers in my youth.

Anyway I'm sure Pete will be happy to oblige Tom if he wants.

I didn't have the good fortune to hang around anything in my youth mate being a brass casters son from the Black Country but from what I've found, any resemblance between the JF model and the Pilots Notes is purely coincidental ;-) I seem to remember one distinguished ex pilot who resides here saying that it was so poor, he removed it from his system.. or words to that effect. My thoughts were that ignorance was bliss so perhaps I wouldn't notice any shortfalls

Thats the shame of the incident - This particular piece of freeware has been around since FS2000 days and flies very well (with updates) - It seemed a shame that the author took that attitude -- especially when people such as Bjorn Buchner have been extremely happy at the reissue of their models at the Pond - In Fact the Stalwart Mr Edward Cook actually volunteered to update his Comper Swift and add spats after PeterW did the Black Magic paints for his original - which to my mind speaks volumes.

Ah well - as I say its a shame because that particular model IS freeware and is the best looking and flying version out there.
