Hi Skip
Those Sea Hurricanes look like their rears are suspended in mid air

Love the shot with the Stringbag.. a smashing combination

Cheers Dave,
The Sea Hurricane's tail wheels are actually resting on an outrigger, basically a steel I beam mounted on the side of the flightdeck so aircraft could be parked on deck without getting in the way. You can just make them out in the shots, which is the same problem I had figuring out what they looked like from looking at photos!

Cheers Skip
I'm not really 'in to' carriers of this era in any detail but I DID think you must have put the Hurricanes in that position for a reason

VM looking forward to the release

Hi Skip,
Just took a look at the pics at that link and they look great

. You noted "She's modelled as built so covers the period from March '41 to Dec '42". I may be wrong on this but did they have steam catapults then ? That is if it is a steam cat I see in the screenies.
Regards
John

John,
You're right in thinking she didn't have steam catapults then, just a hydraulic accelerator. However you can see steam in the screenshots as there was a valve near the bow that allowed a stream of steam to escape to act as a wind indicator, you can often make it out on pictures of RN carriers at the time, Eagle being particularly noticeable but the Illustrious class also had it fitted. It's actually to the right of the accelerator on the centreline.
