Someone shot a few pics of the remaining 748's in Blackpool - a sorry sight indeed.

Cheers Robin
It is a shame and there should be one saved

.....G-BEJD being an early series one too.
On a brighter note, I never thought any of those would fly again, especially after the first winter but a small number did move on albeit out of the country :-(
The 748 must be getting a rare breed now except in places like Canada where it still does well the rough strip work it was dseigned to do all those years ago.

Very depressing seeing those old girls treated in such a way. :-(
The Manchester Science & Industry museum is already brimming with exhibits and would'nt fit a mouse's hat in there now, so that's that one ruled out.
Be great if the aviation park was to snap one up for Manchester Airport though.

Manchester would have been good Eddie as the type was a local area product.

True! I knew that too

Dunno if you know the MTTG Eddie but that's where I did a driving course when I left the RN. Driving close to the factory at kicking out time was a joy to behold. I got the impression folk didn't like working there much as I've never seen people RUN out of the gates before
