Vanguard ICAO code

Can anyone help me with the correct ICAO code for the Vanguard?
I went on a trawl of the internet and found that according to this site: http://www.nordicair.org/dispatch/acicao.htm it is BCV9 for the Vanguard pax and BVCF for the Merchantman. Is this correct?
I think I read somewhere that the code is like the Viscount (VISC) and should be VANG for all versions.

Thanks

CH

Hi CH

As far as I'm aware, it's VANG for all versions :)

HI CH :)

Tracking the Vanguard down online isn't easy as it's either not listed under Vickers but British Aerospace :o or simply not there at all. I seem to remember we got confirmation from a chap here who used to be an ATC ;-)

Ah, been checking up on me eh Dave? And I miss you, too, Leif!

But to answer the question, when I started at Heathrow in the late-60s, the ICAO code for the Vanguard was VC9 (with the Viscounts being VC7 and VC8 and the VC10s and Super VC10s, VC10 and VC15 respectively). That later changed - in the early 80s if I recall - to VANG (including the Merchantman), VISC (all models) and VC10 (all models).

I'm guessing that now Pete's retired he doesn't have time to hang around here as much ;-)
