Does anyone have info about the routes flown by the flying boats out of Poole and Southampton post-war? Specifically, as they couldn't go over the Alps, how did the get to the Med?

It depends on which era you're thinking of!

The green route on that NZ website was, as far as I know, only used once and then abandoned as being unsuitable for the winter months.

The earliest route involved flying to Paris, and then catching the train to Brindisi because the Italians wanted reciprocal flying rights for the UK that we would not give them. Then a Short S-17 would whisk you across the Med.

Later on the C Class birds would fly to Marseille and then onwards. To save typing it all again go here:

One of these days we will complete the other flying boat route to Oz and the Hong Kong routes. Been saying that for a while. :)

Anyone fancy doing a few rudimentary flying boat landing stages?

Any decent flying boat models around? (Apologies, I haven't looked on here yet). Preferably C Class, Sunderland, Solent, just pre-war or post-war....
