Heli Traffic 2009

Post by JohnD »

Has anyone else tried this?

I have downloaded it from Flight1 and have been 'playing' with it tonight. It is very easy to use.

I have created two simple flight plans and the take off and landings are extremely realistic. The default helicopters are used. It workd in FSX and FS9.
You can use existing helicopter landing pads or create your own. The flight plans can be direct from helipad to helipad or via waypoints that you can create.

On the downside it doesn't react with existing AI traffic or radio communications.

For me it adds another dimension to a already great virtual world!

Here is a link to the demo and video http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=helitraffic

Yes, I've been using it for a couple of months now and LOVE it. I recommend it to anyone with even a passing interest in helicopters or those who operate from airfields where there are lots of helicopter movements.

I bought it yesterday and am very pleased with it...no sound from the Traffic helicopters but very good hovering with real vertical take-offs and landings. I note that some helicopters are better to use than others...The main critera for me being the appearance of the spinning rotors. Rick's Sycamore is very good but the Robinson 44 from FS Chopper Fever is no good as it flies with its ground tethered rotor still visible. The program for setting things up works very well and it automatically finds all the choppers that you have available (it also found a large fixed wing aircraft and programmed that in!...looked really strange landing on the helipad at McLeland Field!!)...Easily fixed as I just unticked it

I heard that his slows up FSX quite a bit, but I forgot it was for FS9 too, I imagine on a good system it would be OK.

John, Trooper, Pete

Thanks for the affirmation -- I think I feel ALL the sightseeing traffic for Hawaii coming on -- Blue Hawaii and Maui Helicopters AS360s everywhere...

It streams fine for me, Peter. It looks really good too, I wonder if I need it?

Mmm. Probly not. We'll see.
