Threat to the Shuttleworth Collection

This arrived in the post this morning from the Aviation Trustee; this evening it has been posted by members of the SVAS committee, so I presume can now be shared. The collection has received two anonymous threats to the collection's aircraft, by someone demanding that model flying ceases at Old Warden.
The (now) open letter is below - I hope Kevin at the collection doesn't mind be borrowing his scan in the circumstances.

Either it's a sick wind-up or somebody is not quite right in the head (to put it politely). I can't think of any logical reason why someone would take issue with the modellers flying their aircraft there.
But saying that, anyone who'd send such a thing to the Shuttleworth Collection (or anyone else for that matter), joke or not, can't exactly have much of a grasp on the idea of logic...

Well.. it takes all sorts
The person concerned is obviously sick.. disturbed and in need of execution

Here we are fighting a war of terror and some tw@t wants model aircraft to stop flying otherwise he'll destroy (I guess) a collection of rare milestones in aviation history
The mind boggles :brick:

I thought I was reading it incorrectly at first... all this over model airplane flying... some people need to get out more. I'd suggest immediate transportation to Afghanistan when he / she is caught.

Agree 100% Ben. Preferably letting him/her be the one to look for IED's. At least then they would be serving a useful purpose.

Should be easy enough to find him with a bit of detective work. He obviously lives close to the source of irritation and has probably complained before as this is the action of someone at the end of their tether. He can't be an enthusiast as one wouldn't contemplate these actions, so when the letters were posted at Gatwick he was unlikely to be spotting. He was either going on holiday or a business trip (he wouldn't carry the letter with him on the trip). It's quite likely that it's his wife who has nagged him to take action, because wives are the source of most irrational behaviour in men. So perhaps Eddie should do a house to house enquiry of dwellings downwind of the aerodrome. Then compare suspicious persons with record of their travels, marital pressure and past correspondence.
Elementary, my dear Watsons.

I can sort of see where he is coming from but there is no need to react as he/she has done.
I hate the noise of little 2 strokers revving at about 9434354143145rpm

A bit like the 'bee in a biscuit tin' 'motorbikes' with the 'attitude' riders... until you laugh as they do 11.4mph up hill

If this guy has a problem with these model a/c enthusiasts then why does he not speak to them ot even the council to see if some sort of compromise could be made?
Failing that then he could buy himself a remote control unit and........................
