Hi Chaps, I just uploaded my first fraps vid at youtube. It's only a test, short and sweet but still looks nice and sounds wonderful. I'm using the Maam Sim DC-3

Good start Gary

Quality seems reasonable.

You'd be better re running it from several angles and recording that then editing together so you have different views and angles

Nice video Gary. Where did you get the BKS repaint from? I've been after that for ages.

Andy, I got the BKS textures from the Maam Sim website BKS_DC3.zip

The Sounds are the Turbine Sound Studio DC-3 set... and wonderful they are too :tunes:

Hi Gary, very good video and enjoyed the atmoshere of the time of day

As Garry wrote run the vid at different angles as it will make it more interesting, you can try doing shots from the ground (Tower View for T/O) just place the tower near the R/W at around 5ft altitude which would give a great shot then use Shift and plus or minus to zoom in and out smoothly.

Why not Windows Movie Maker? :dunno: Nothing wrong with it at all, in fact I use it!

This is one!!

Nigel that is an amazing video :o Hat's off to you Mate!

I tried to use windows movie maker, I saved my nice clear fraps recording as a so called high quality .wmv but it got compressed to an un-watchable soup. How on earth did you manage to save it so clear with WMM?

Hi Gary, many thanks for your kind comment. Firstly and like everyone else (I presume) I record using FS Recorder then replay the recording and then use Fraps but do not save it as high quality.wmv (did not know it could be saved like that)!! :worried: Just save it as it is then use Windows Movie maker and put it all together.

Other editing software (usually payware) will give more options editing wise but I usually settle for the simple things in life, uncomplicated and straight forward without the need to exercise the grey matter!!

Regards
Nigel.

I record it in FRAPS which reduces the quality and then put it through WMM which murders it :'(

It reduces the file size to about a tenth of what it was :-(

Is there another alternative to Fraps?
