Classic British Flight Sim

Well so far so good. I've not broken anything yet and managed to land in the right places so far. Must admit flying somebody elses aeroplanes is quite demanding.

Had a fun return to Dyce last night though... at 500' on finals ATC gave me a go around! Of course I obeyed, and tucked the wheels and flaps up, slowly opened up the throttles and got the hell away from the runway. But it probably means that my extra 20 mins of flight have borked the average fuel use figures...

Ho hum. The only reason I was ordered off was a bleedin' Cessna 152 crossing the runway and he was well out of the way by time I would have landed. But then I NEVER argue with ATC.

That's a good way of putting it Gary. Flying on your own offline, you can do just about anything and get away with it. Flying online.. it's always in the back of your head that it's not yours to bend as you see fit so rather more care has to be taken

Indeed. Half the time I spend in front of FS is trying to decide what to fly and where to and from. Once I'm actually airborne it's easy to give in and restart or try a different aeroplane or even go for some silly aerobatics (always fun in a airliner) with the sure and certain knowledge that I've not hurt anyone, bust anything and the only thinkg that's changed is my logbook where I have another take-off without a landing. It's also very easy to just put the thing down anywhere... And at any old tyre-popping VSI...

Knowing that I'm in command of a multi million pound aeroplane that the airline has bought and that a lot of you would be upset if crashed has made me very aware of how I fly.

I'm certainly looking forward to getting type rated in some other planes too. But I'll make sure I CAN fly them first.
