Shuttle Discovery Landing

Has the website been down about 2 hours ago??
Anyhow - Shuttle 'Discovery' at about to do its thing regarding re-entry - weather permitting. I think landing will be around midnight.
Watching NASA TV they are still making plans & entering computer data, so as at now (21.30 BST) things are still go!!

Both re-entry burn opportunities were waved off for weather so I wish them better luck for tomorrow

yep the weather has been very dynamic as they say. all up and down the coast here in FL
they are saying Edwards for friday (today as I write this for you)
last friday we had some lightning like I havn't see in a long time. one thunder rumble lasted ... close to 45 seconds maybe??
I have some really wild video of it , but am waiting before I post it to make sure what I see on the video
is what was really happened.. freekish to say the least
well didn't mean to run off subject ...
I got some flying time in yesterday .... snuck out between cells passing over and snapped this leaving KPHK

She is safely down at Edwards...Great to watch and all right on the button...First I have seen at Edwards

Hi Peter ,
amazing how fast it comes in , the view of the HUD is something else, it puts you right in the seat.
Sadly , there aren't many left. And the replacement isn't going to be much more fun than
watching a pop bottle rocket go up and come back down.

Joe -- did you see they successfully flew the Ares 1 from Vandenberg today?
Tag watched the Shuttle landing mesmerized -- then asked why we hadn't driven down to see it

Thanks Joe - I caught the end of a news bit on NPR driving home tonight -- they were talking about Vandenberg and the Ares so I assumed.......lol I just watched the vid of it -- yes its a bottle rocket -- but I would like to be around when they light the Ares V
