I have not tried this but thought I would post for anyone interested.

"FS2004/FSX Supermarine Spitfire Pr XIX. The Spitfire Pr XIX was the last Spitfire to be used in operational service. It was the first of the Griffon-engined photo reccoversions to enter large scale production. Based on the Mk XIV airframe and the 2375 hp Rolls Royce Griffon 65 or 66 engine with a Rotol 5 bladed propellor giving it a maximum speed of 723km/h (452 mph) at 6242m (20,500 feet). It was an unarmed photo recco machine. This is a model of Spitfire PR XIX PS888, with more authentic colors and fixed rudder movement. PPS888 was flown by No. 81 Sqdrn in Singapore 1954. Out of curiousity and love of Spitefires downloaded it...tried it....binned it!!

Is it that bad then?? I want a Supermarine Spitfire Pr XIX is Aeroplane heaven the best ones to get??

I hate to criticise especially as I could not possibly manage to make one, even if I did it would end up looking like rubbish but instruments appeared slightly weird and not rounded, in the virtual cockpit mode the windscreen was all glass, no metal frames which are present in the 2D view, engine did not really sound like a Merlin, handling a bit questionable and after landing so much smoke from the tyres I thought I had left the brakes on. Unfortunately not a very good model even from the outside.

Again, I don't like to show this much criticism especially when I have not even attempted to make one myself but after flying a/c from DM - Rick - Derek - Garry - Dave Molyneaux and far too many others to mention then I expect anything else to reach near to their standard of modelling panels, flyability etc.

Yep James,the AH/JF XIX is the best at the mo.

Couple it with RealAir's Griffon sound and it's even better.
